MTA worker slashed in the face at Whitlock Avenue station

Video shows the worker with her face covered by a white blanket as she was escorted into an ambulance by first responders.

An MTA worker was attacked while on the job in Longwood. Police say it happened at the Whitlock Avenue station on the southbound platform just before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The 36-year-old woman was slashed in the face with an unknown sharp object by a man, as the train was in the station.
Video shows the worker with her face covered by a white blanket as she was escorted into an ambulance by first responders. She was taken to Lincoln Hospital to be treated for her injuries.
Manhattan-bound 6 trains were delayed following the incident.
Since the start of the year, there has been 225 felony assaults in the transit system, and 93 assaults on police officers and MTA workers, according to city data.
Police say the attacker is a man who they have not yet been able to identify.
